Profile of Angie Carter-Woodwark

'My images are usually based on a landscape theme, from sketches made on the environment around me, or from photographs taken to suggest mood, texture and natural forms. I use watercolour together with pen to create depth, using the paint strongly, building it up in layers, giving the painting luminosity. The penwork gives definition to the subject I always try to create an air of mystery, to try to weave a story leaving questions for the observer. Recently I have returned to oils, again my images have an air of mystery and fantasy, I work with strong colours and forms. My photographs record natural forms and textures, landscape and local images'. |
